Re: Need Advice For A Problem With Club Car
Need more info. Could be a lot of things.
But a few things come to mind. (I've been through a lot with my cart) What voltage is your new battery testing now? Is it dead? Sounds like it runs for a bit, then the battery dies. Possibly, a solenoid? Or even bad brushes in your starter/generator. Get yourself a volt tester. That thing will save you a buttload of time and money when It comes to cart problems. Test battery for voltage. If its good. Then I would test the solenoid. When pedal is pressed should make a clicking sound. And even then could be bad, but further testing is need. Search the forums here for test procedures for, solenoid, voltage regulator, starter/generator. |

Re: Need Advice For A Problem With Club Car
It sounds to me like the starter/generator is turning the motor over, it just isn't firing up. If that's the case you need to check for fuel or spark. Pull the spark plug when it won't start and see if it's wet. If it is, hold the removed plug against the engine block (to ground it) with a pair of insulated pliers (wire still attached) and push the gas pedal. The plug should start clicking and you should see it sparking.
If the plug is dry after you've tried to start it unsuccessfully, you need find out why you're not getting fuel. |
