1990 DS Gas Project
I bought a 90 DS back in July mainly to maintain a baseball field in my neighborhood. After a few weeks, it started to knock and after another 2 months the connecting rod broke in two. So I started to tear down and prepare for a rebuild before the spring season. I've looked locally for a replacement KF82, but no such luck. My plan is to do a GX clone. Luckily, I have fabrication skills and can weld, paint and airbrush. Here's some pics to get started.

Re: 1990 DS Gas Project
those rods all try and escape the same way out the side , you might get away with cleaning up the crank throwing a rod in it and back to work , a little jb weld over that hole , i'' be watching though since im doing a honda swap in the same cart

Re: 1990 DS Gas Project
Well, it's only been a year! I had to put the project on the back burner until I saved the money to buy a new engine and swap kit. I got a Predator 420 for $299 and ordered a swap kit from Vegas carts today. It should arrive in a week or two and I'll take lots of install pics.

Re: 1990 DS Gas Project
Over the Christmas break, I worked on the Club Car. I realized I couldn't put a new engine in an dirty, rusty cradle. So down the rabbit hole to sandblasting and painting pretty much the whole rear sub frame assembly. I got the engine installed and running, but I had to jump the starter with a battery box directly. So, I'm thinking I have a bad ground to the engine? Everything was working before I dissembled last year. I don't think the solenoid or pedal switch would just go bad sitting there? Any help appreciated.
