Default Help determining year and model

Hello folks, I am working at fixing up a 3 wheel model for a friend and in need of a new drive belt. Based on the poor fit I am fairly sure the drive belt that is on it is the wrong belt.

In order to verify the right belt we would appreciate any help in determining what year and model this cart is.

Serial number 3B-13148-C3

We guessed at the year of this unit and got a Gates drive Belt part number 6312 and we are not sure it is the correct belt. The belt that is currently on it part number 36398-82 is very narrow and very loose compared the new belt.

Would anyone know if we have the correct belt and if not, what the belt part number should be?

The C3 is C=1980's and 3=3, so 1983.

It was originally purchased 4/10/1983 by Center Square Golf Club in Buckingham, PA.

The 36398-82 belt was originally a cross to a Dayco 43-0489, but now is a cross to a Dayco belt HP2009 or Gates 5710.

Thank you for the information.

Would you happen to know if the gates belt pn 36398-82 is the correct belt for this machine? Based on my belt experience with snowmobiles, it looks like this belt is far too long and far to narrow to provide power from the outside flanges of the drive/driven clutches.

I just fired the machine up on jack stands for the first time in many years with the Gates 6312 belt on it and it seems to be about the right size. I would like to get the exact fit for it given the old gent using it will be climbing up and down a lot of hills with it.

Appreciate any advise.

The 36398-82 is the Columbia ParCar belt number. We still have them made with that number stamped on them.

The cross over from the Dayco to Gates is what yielded the 5710 number, not a 6312. But if it works, then go with it.
