Default 88 par car piston size aruement

I downloaded a manual from this site, I believe, called cpc_manual_service_1989_gsel.pdf which shows the standard piston size to be 2.749. Vintage golf carts sold me a piston .010 over but only measures 2.7475. They say the standard piston size is 2.739 for a 1989 par car. Can you all tell me which is correct? Thanks ...

Since the bore listed in the service manual is 2.75 my machinist told me to order a .020 over piston but when I got the piston it only measured around 2.757 so we thought we were sent a .010 oversized piston in a .020 piston box. The machinist was able to hone to this piston size with .003 clearance but when he was going to measure the end gap for the rings the ends overlapped so we decided the piston was .010 over and the rings were .020 over in a .020 over box. After much hassle and finally talking to the company owner who checked many pistons, we found the aftermarket pistons run small and the rings need to be filed ALOT. Actually the .010 rings work better on a .020 piston. Also they suggest a .006 to .007 clearance which seems extreme for a golf cart.
Here are the piston sizes I found on a few web sites which all seem to be close to the same. I was told there is only one manufacturer making pistons for this brand/year of carts.
Of course all are nominal.
Standard aftermarket piston 2.737
.010 2.747
.020 2.757
.030 2.767
.040 2.777
Hope this helps someone else from having this trouble. And always willing to be corrected if wrong.
