92 par car, no spark issue
So, after going through lots of the posts. I thought I had it whipped. I've got no spark, I have replaced the coil, and spark plug wire, and new plug. I think my issue is in the ignition module. Following the instruction, I have aligned the timing marks, put 12v to the coil, and move the module back and forth I should get a spark, then tighten it down. Unfortunately there is no spark. Voltage is 11.8 at the coil.
I looked and the module goes for almost $200, unless I can find a used one. Did the coil I put in damage the module? I picked up a new coil at a local shop that deals with golf carts. Brand is E-Tron components, part #D500J. Is there a way to test the ignition module before ruling it out? I've also been reading to see if anyone has converted to points, which it looks like several either have or thought about it. I'd be willing to give it a shot but I don't know the process. |
