Default 88 parcar lift kit build

Hey guys. I see that they do not make a lift kit for the 88 style Columbia Parcar. I bought one a couple winters ago to scoot around at camp. It was stock and it was in good shape. But being me i decides i needed to completely change it. Thought i would share it with you guys. I cut the front end off and dropped it 10 inches. i separated the rear frames and raised the top one 10 inches. Ended up pushing the front axle out about 3 inches cause i thought it looked better. I built a new roof support out of 1 inch tube steel. Also did the paint myself. I am still putting the finishing touches on it but here is where it stands now. i would be happy to share details with anyone who needs them. Keep rocking them older carts.

Any pics on how you did the rear portion of the lift? I just got my first cart - 92' Gas ParCar and was curious how others went about lifting where there isn't a kit available.

The car is up at camp now i will take pics this weekend. But if you look at your cart you will see that the rear body and gas tank and inner fenders are all mounted on the "upper frame" if you will. And the engine and rear end are on the "bottom frame". Just in front of the engine the 2 come together where there are some bushings so the engine can flex with the suspension. I cut the frame right in front of that and lifted the upper frame. I used 2 inch tube steel 3/16 wall. Keep in mind if you do it this way you need to go at least 8 inches so the top of the cylinder head clears the frame. Then instead of buying longer springs i just used tube again and welded a plate on top to make a new spring mount. Relocated the center shock mount and that is it in the rear. Hope this helps

Rides way better than stock. I put 22 inch tires on it and could have gone bigger but was worried about it being tippy. Also was going to put 2 inch wheel spacers on it but no need. Its solid

This helps out a lot actually. If I have to do fab work I'd like to go big instead of just making some 2" spring spacers.

Thanks for the reply HighlyModified!
