I wouldn't call mine loud and it has two holes in the muffler and some of the internals drilled out. It does make noise though but not that I can't hear anyone talking while driving.

What kind of muffler do you have?
Any pics.

Don't know what kind of muffler. It's a long cyl. I try and get a pic. I'm not sure how to post pic though. Thanks...TEX

If it is loud then you may have an exhaust leak coming from the header or pipe. Have you checked both of these already?

Sounds like you have the factory muffler but you may have a cherry bomb. There should be an exhaust donut where the exhaust port meets the exhaust pipe. It may be cracked or missing.

My 3 wheeler is loud like that. I checked everything imaginable and the bottom line is that the noise is coming from the engine itself. Maybe the bearings, who knows. Rather than tearing the motor apart I am going to line the inside of the body with a sound deadener instead. Someone posted about doing this several months ago and reported some good results.

Thanks for all the comments. I found where noise was coming from. The exhaust wasn't lined up with port.
