idle speed
How slow do these carts idle.?????
If it is simular to other 2 stroke equipment I've owned in the past I'm thinking that it should idle a lot slower. I'm looking for a tach to track RPM to know just where it actually is at the moment. |

Re: idle speed
Yea there is no idle on these things. Foot off the pedal cuts off the ignition and kills the engine.

Re: idle speed
If the throttle does not respond correctly the throttle cable to the carb may not be adjusted properly. The carb butterfly should be spring loaded in the open position and the throttle (gas Pedal) should hold the butterfly closed at rest. (Carts are not designed to idle)!

Re: idle speed
OK that answers that. Thank you Guess I was thinking of how an automobile works or for that matter any engine I've ever worked on. Lol

Re: idle speed
I thought the same thing when I first started working on mine. I figured it would be nice to be able to idle at the time but now I see it's better they way it is.

Re: idle speed
They after all are golf carts and they should not be idling while the game is being played. Also I don't think the cart has the cooling capacity to idle for very long.

Re: idle speed
valid points all
But I think I've got an issue and that it runs fine at 3000 RPM but when you try to slow down it just wants to die . Then of course the starter genertor start up again. it does not wish to run anywhere under 2200 RPM. flat out runs 3150 RPM |

Re: idle speed
Check the travel of the throttle butterfly disk and be sure it has full travel. Remove the governor if it hasn't been done yet!
