forward reverse switch
the previous owner of my 94 par car installed a E-Z-Go a forward reverse switch instead of the switch it was supposed to go in it.
what's going on is when you start off down the road then after going a little bit you have to pull the lever up a little bit in order to get full speed. I'm going to attempt to upload a photo for clariety. Top wire goes to F1 on the starter/generator Left wire goes A2 Right wire goes to A1 Bottom wire goes to ground f2 goes to the solenoid Well I'm not able to get the photo from my album the switch appears to be for an 86 to 94 marathon and the cut off cornors are down if that makes any sense to you |

Re: forward reverse switch
Are you talking about a lever on the front of the switch (not visible in the pic) that rotates the silver portion to either of the black switches?
A part of the switch may be burned up or corroded, not making good contact. The indentation that holds the switch in place may be worn out or the spring holding pressure against the indentation lost its tension allowing the switch and contact to move out of position. |

Re: forward reverse switch
yes you are correct the lever on the front is what I'm talking about.
in my case you push it all the way to the right to go forward and when you get going then you have to pull up on it a little bit in order to go full speed with what sounds like a an engine almost full choke. If you don't pull up theblever about 1\8 turn it runs real doggie. so I'm wondering if maybe I need to replace that switch or could it be a carburetor issue. It is 12 to 13 years old after all. |

Re: forward reverse switch
I guess my biggest question right now is if the switch is wired correctly I've looked at the way mine is wired. t doesn't match the way a couple of the diagrams are set up.
a couple of wires are switched around so I can send photographs and hopefully I can upload the photos |

Re: forward reverse switch
I am just not getting how that EZGo switch can even work. Kinda genius if it does. Columbias share the same circuit for F/R with diodes limiting the direction of the current given the switch position. I didn't think that EZGos had that shared circuit. I have to check out a wiring diagram.

Re: forward reverse switch
I I have one posted in another thread. on the other thread headed forward reverse switch.
Appears to work pretty simple. I'll not take credit, was on my cart when I got it. |
