Default F/R switch I'm thinking

Well finally installed the new carb bought the BV24 by mistake instead of the BV18, Made it work and started it right up..

Runs pretty well for a 2 stroke and will for the first time idle down to be able to turn in the driveway on all 4 wheels instead of two.. Ha Ha

Was/still having some issues with the Forward reverse switch. I exchanged the wires on A1 and A2 so the switch works like other carts. With forward when lever is toward the sterring wheel and reverse toward the passenger side of the cart. When I went to the local Ezgo dealer all of his carts were set up this way.

Before the change the cart would hesitate to go forward when pushing down the pedal now is moves forward smoothly but hesitates in reverse.. I'm thinking some how the F/R switch may be causing this. ?????

Any ideas. ????
pics of my switch and wiring diagrams in other threads or in my Albums , feel free to look and advise as necessary..

Yep, you have something going on with that switch. I believe those have copper contacts in them. You may want to take it apart and make sure those contacts are clean.

I don't know those switches all that well. I actually have an early 90s EZGo 6 person shuttle that I restored last winter that had that exact switch on it. It's electric and I converted it from 36 to 48v. During the conversion I had to ditch that switch and install a heavier duty one. I wish I would have taken a better look at it.

As your hesitation changed from F to R when you flipped the switch wiring, logically, I think it has to be your switch. I believe the mechanism that holds those switches together can wear over time with the result being that the contacts don't press together as hard as they should. That could be your case. You may want to open that sucker up and jump the reverse contacts and see what you have.

As that's an EZGo switch you may want to ask the guys in the EZGo sub-forum about it as well. They have a some super knowledgeable guys there who are pretty quick to respond.
