Older Columbia Parcar newbie here
Hey all! I finally got me a golf cart and it needs a little work. I have a older gas par car. I can't figure out the exact year but the serial starts with 5K and ends in C7. Maybe someone can help with that. Anyways. It needs a battery. I can't find any information on what battery to put into it. I got it without one so I can't just swap it out. I assume this is a 12v system being a gas cart and all. Funny thing is, this cart has a ton of new parts so I'm hoping everything works good since I couldn't hear it run when I got it. Anyway, thanks for the help! And I look foreword to learning a lot from here. Thanks!!!!

That's an 87 model 4 wheeler.
Some put lawnmower batteries and some put car batteries in them. Yes it is a 12 volt system. Not hearing the engine run may not be a good sign. If the engine is not firing, the starter will turn the engine over and some think the engine is running when it's actually not. |

Thanks for he replays. I tried looking at that chart and it was not definitive to what year I had. Or at least I wasn't able to figure it out. At least someone was able to tell me.
As far as the motor itself I was told it ran fine but who knows what that means. I figure I'll get it running even if I had to rebuild the motor itself. I'm a auto mechanic so figuring this out shouldn't be to hard. I'm hoping it does run and run good so at least I got to do it clean up the body since she's ugly as sin right now haha. But thanks again guys!! I do appreciate it. I know they are more then likely dumb questions but I figured I would ask and go from there. I'll look into a battery this weekend. Until then I'm going to barrow my buddies carts battery since he is ripping it apart to install a snowmobile motor in his LOL. Thanks again!!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
