Default Cart wont start again.....not sure why

Well when I got my cart, amongst other issues, i had a sticky solenoid. So once i figured out my issues i got a new solenoid and it ran for 2 days. This morning the cart stopped and wouldn't start back up. The solenoid didnt click and it was REALLY hot so i figured the solenoid burned up. I went to autozone and picked up another solenoid. This time a little heavier duty. Still wont click.

Now, i dont know if it's the voltage regulator, the key switch went bad again or if i wired up the solenoid wrong. The new solenoid i got has "s" and "i" terminals marked where the old original one (or at least the one that was on the cart when i got it) wasnt marked at all but i kind of just wired it the same as the old one as far as positions of the posts

Any ideas where to start? How to test certain components?

The factory harley solenoid sort of looks like a Ford starter unit. But the car one is for just the starter not constant duty like the cart requires. What did you use as a replacement ?

Yea I figured its probably not the right one but it's not even clicking. Like it's not getting power. I'll have to order the correct solenoid but I think theres another issue as well. Does anyone know if any parts stores carry the correct solenoid or ifile have to order it online?

Old231 is on it, ou need a continuous duty solenoid.

Intermittent duty ones are light in that they only have high amp current passing through them during the car starting process. When a car is started current no longer goes through them. With golf carts, current is always passing through the solenoids when the cart is running so they have to be beefier.

Regarding the solenoid not clicking, that could be the key switch or the accelerator microswitch.

Attached is a testing procedure that should help you find out exactly where you are losing your juice.

Do you know if a solenoid can be bought at any local parts stores?
