1984 Columbia Parcar NO START
Hey y’all
Just picked up a 1984 Columbia parcar 2stroke It has NO spark, all it does is crank over. I’ve never played with one of these carts, as I’m a G2 guy myself. Does anybody have input as to where I should check for voltage first? Any common areas of failures on these things? Thanks Paul |

Re: 1984 Columbia Parcar NO START
I attached a testing procedure that I use for those carts. This is really for carts that don't turn over at all but you might find it useful.
Really, you have to make sure that your coil is getting volts when the engine is trying to turn over. You'll see how to do that in the attachment. If you have voltage there then your coil, plug, or spark plug wire may be bad. I think 84s were still points carts so check those out. Those are located under the fan on the front of the motor. The points ground through the motor itself so you may to pop those off and clean things up. Dielectric on the back of the points plate is a good idea. |
