Default Rebuilding Par Car top end

I have what I think is a 1990 gas Par Car (Serial XL 2010 90). It runs fine now, but I have gas coming out of the carb on the filter side when running and have very little vacuum.

Looking at replacing the piston and rings with a set that is .30 over, having the cylinder bored, and while I have it apart, replacing the oil seals.

Anyone know what the ring gap and piston/bore clearance should be so I can tell the machine shop?

1990 was the same as the 89s but that VIN numbering convention doesn't seem right. That you have a 2 stroke likely means it's a 1990 though.

Here is a list of service manuals with most years represented:

I am sure the right point gap is in there somewhere.

With regard to your symptoms, you may want to check your reed valve out before you get into the seals. A worn reed or one that is missing leaf will cause gas flow back to the carb.
