what year is my parcar

How on earth do I find the year model on my Columbia Par Car? I inherited this thing after it sat for over a year and now I have a problem where after putting in brand new Trojan batteries I turn the key on, and hear the solonoid pull in. then, with in a minute or so the solonoid drops out.

Also if I depress the foot pedal i see the indicator on the controller give me a 2 flash code, what does this mean?

Someone told me it could be the throttle position sensor... I checked the micro switch and it seems to make a break fine but how do I check the sensor?

Any help is much appriciated

Mike, I need the VIN to get you the year of the vehicle. If it's a 17 digit VIN, the 10th letter is the year. If it's less than 17, the last two give you the year. (E if for 2000's, D is for 90's, C is for 80's...second digit is year...E2=2002, D8=98, etc..)

Yours is probably 2004 or newer, equipped with a Sevcon controller. A 2 flash is a "false start" condition. Happens if the vehicle is in gear when key turned on, foot on pedal when key turned on, etc..or...if the vehicle thinks the pedal is pressed when you turn on the key in the even of a worn or incorrect linkage adjustment. I attached the code chart to this reply for you.

without souding lame, where is the VIN located? I fixed the Flash issue. Before you had responded I was troubleshooting and found the microswitch on the throttle position sensor was not changing state. it worked great once I replaced it. so I would still like to get the VIN and any docs so my guys know what we have,

If not on the dash like a standard auto, could be on a sticker in the "glove box" cubby area driver side, on kick panel at passenger side left foot on the side, or on the frame. If you can get me the controller serial number or axle serial, I might be able to cross reference it too.
