How do I lift a 1991 par car 4 wheel
I am designing my golf cart as a fire truck and need to add a lift kit to take on the extra weight. I can not find any lift kits for that year. Is there something out there that I can invent or someone else invented that they can explain to me? I need to bring it up 6 inches and I am thinking a leaf lift from a car might work but not sure.
I also need to get extra battery power into it. It is gas but I am thinking I could just add a second battery and run the 2 parallel. Does anyone know if that would work? I need to run extra lights, siren, radios and all the extras. All of the elctronics will be on it's own battery. Last but not least we actually have two carts. My wifes is a couple years older but still a par car. Hers when going down a hill the motor goes into neutral and let's gravity take over going down the hill. Mine the motor stays in control of the speed which is creating a whining sound out of my motor. Is there anyway to stop it from being in control and letting gravity take over like my wifes? Thank you very much for looking at this post. I am new and I am sure I will have lot's of questions and will definetly give info when I can. |

There are no lift kit out there.
Their will be no easy solution to get you up 6 inches, sorry. I made some spacers the first set was 2.5 inches and the swing arm was at too big of an angle. the second was 1.75 and it works good. If you want 6 inch out back you will need to mount the swing arm lower, at least 4 inches, and you will need longer springs and new shocks. Thats the back. The front: lowering the spring or adding a leaf will not get you to 6 inches you would need longer upper arms. your best bet would be to keep the suspention intact and cut it off where the frame tubes come up in the back extend the tubes and drop it all down 6 inches then extend the stearing. Should take you about 3 to 4 hours |

Jeggers, got pictures of your lift? We got my son's 90 par car running yesterday, time to start working on the upgrades. I think I know what we will do with the front but the back is still up in the air (i wish). Any information and pictures are welcomed. Thanks

Thanks jeggers, looks simple enough. Finally had the time to look through some of your threads. You and the cart have come a long way. Looks real good. I hope ours turns out half as nice. thanks again.
