Default 1988 Parcar Fuel pump Or no Fuel pump?

I'm back...after along exhausting time I finally got a new rebuilt motor...Now it won't start...but I was told it need a fuel pump..but at the same time I was told that it is gravity fed...I did not have a pump on it to start with...so gravity fed is looking good to me. The motor is on the carb bowl has gas in it but it won't start...it turns over but won't start.. Seeing that the motor is new...could it be the gas?? this gas has been in the cart since i bought it and god know how long it was in there before...Can someone help me please...

Hi Sandra,

I thought you gave up on it. You need a fuel pump, get one befor you try and start it again there is no oil in it. You should drain out the old gas and mix new if you dont have oil injection.

sorry it has taken so long to answer....When I bought the rebuilt motor I had to send him my core... I got a pump and it pumps well, but still doesn't start...When i got the new motor from this guy he sent it to me with a cracked carb. I got someone to weld it back together...it was cracked where the screws go, I am thinking, is it possible that he could have damaged it when welding? and would that stop it from starting. I called this joker and he said that he will replace the carb at his descretion...so 3 months later he send me a carb for a harley..not even close to what I need. I paid 980 dollars to this joker and he wants to play around with me....he got his money...now i have to wait for him...NOT A NICE PERSON!!! I only have access to my cart when I am at camp which is only on weekends...but if anyone has any idea's as to what it could be i would really appreciate it. I think I need some one who can look at it hands on....

Thanks a whole lot for all your help...

Are you sure it's a fuel issue?
Jack the rear end up
using a spray bottle with a gas and oil mix, spray it into the carb and see if it will run.

Does anyone have a diagram of how to properly install the float spring on a 1988 Par Car Carb?
