The vibrating Columbia died. I plan on resurrecting it next week. It quit running the other day, it acted like it was out of gas, I was cranking it over trying to diagnose the problem when all of a sudden the motor locked up. I pulled the motor and took it apart and found that the reed assembly came (vibrated) apart, the brass screw ended up in the crank case and locked up the engine. On the bright side their was no internal damage and I think I found the vibration problem. The crankshaft bearing on the clutch side was spinning on the crankshaft. Does anybody know how I can build up the crank shaft where the bearing sits so the new bearing won't spin on the shaft? I thought I could just lock tight it to the crank shaft or maybe just take a punch and make some high spots by peening the crank shaft where the bearing sits. Any other ideas?

keep playing with it and you'll figure it out.

I put my engine back together and put it back in the cart, the crank shaft bearing wasn't causing the vibration. but the vibration must of caused the inside bearing race to spin on the crank shaft. Needless to say it runs great but still vibrates at higher speeds.
