I have 100lb of compression, should I replace the piston and rings or let it go for another year?

looks like you are ok.

Quote:
ENGINE TROUBLESHOOTING

ENGINE TURNS BUT: Cart Won't Start/Hard Starting or Lack of Power

ENGINE DOESN'T TURN: See "Charging System" category

The first task to do is a compression check

The compression should be approximately 80 (100) psi in FORWARD and 85 (105) psi in REVERSE for Harley Davidson /(Columbia).
A higher compression, 10-15 psi over, would suggest either a blocked exhaust port, build-up of carbon on the cylinder head or a BLOCKED MUFFLER. If the compression is high, disconnect the muffler to see if the compression returns to normal. If the compression is low, in either direction, a broken ring(s) is the problem. Remove the carbon from the piston top to get its size.

Well it looks like the compression is fine, I'm going to have to figure out why it smokes and appears to be down on power, could be a bad tank of gas or the carb needs help.

It's not much to look at but it gets the job done.

She's pretty good lookin'!
Rebuilding the carb is not a bad idea, check to see if your muffler is clogged,& of course just the basic tune up stuff!
How does the inside look?
