86 parcar was running great after new top end then.........
After we got it running good the kid hit a tree and dead stopped it. Now I have no power at all and it barely runs. I put a new carb on and redid all the linkage that was damaged in the crash. I took the muffler apart and welded all the baffles back into place and burned it out. Still no power. Plenty of spark and 120psi compression forward and reverse, getting gas. Is there a key in the flywheel like on a lawn mower that would mess with the timing? It seems to make no difference where I set the timing. How much vacuum should I have at the crank and what ratio should I have the gas mixed at (I'm running 50:1 boat mix right now) Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Mike

The flywheel can spin when stopped like that. Pull the flywheel and re index with the key, re install the other parts and re time and you should be good. Engines with heavy fly wheels do not like to stop suddenly.
