Default 86 Columbia Fuel Pump

My fuel pump went bad so I picked one up from the local lawn/garden shop.
It's manufactured by Mikuni and sold from Honda. Part #16700-z0j-003

Should this pump work? I'm not getting any gas into the carb now!
The only real difference I see is it's plastic and there is some sort of vent on the outside.

If it is a pulse pump it should work. You should have a pulse hose barb, an inlet and outlet. The vent is there to let the diaphram move.
Try wrapping a rag around your air nozzle and blow lightly into the fuel tank filler until you get gas flowing from the hose that connects to the carb.
just might need to get wet with gas once to start working.

Thanks crash. I think that actually helped!
Too bad the pump didn't seem to fix my problem. :(
