92 Par Car rebuild
This has been a fun & frusterating project all in one. I started with a Krylon camo cart with a homemade wooden bed on the back. The engine had been removed and partially rebuilt, but it needed new crank seals and the clutch pulley was stuck to the crank. I wound up having to cut the pulley off which led to having to fabricate a new one. The cracks in the fiberglass have been repaired and the body repainted. I installed HID headlights and LED taillights along with an LED reverse light and a switched 12 volt receptical. I have since installed a Class I receiver hitch as well. The griptapes were crap once I removed them so I masked off the areas where they once were and applied Herculiner instead. This was cheaper than cutting new griptapes, looks better, and is much more durable. I have since added the top back on and am nearly finished fabricating a rear seat. More pictures as I go.

Re: 92 Par Car rebuild
Not sure why the photos came out the size they did...my apologies for the stretched screen.
The headache that I am now having with the cart seems to be the starter / generator. It will start in Reverse after about a 2 second pause of hitting the gas pedal, but in forward it will not do anything...the solenoid clicks but no starter movement. It had been starting in Forward, although it was very slugish and would almost stop on the compression. I am thinking I should check the brushes?!? This is about the only problem that I have left with it (fingers crossed)...I installed a new battery and that did not fix it, but needed to be done anyway. |

Re: 92 Par Car rebuild
Rear seat completed...had to weld in a cross brace to support the weight then fabricated a frame that bolts to the rear clamshell...also fabricated a receiver hitch. Pretty much done with it other than to replace the starter brushes. Oh, and I am fabricating a mounting adapter to replace the steering wheel with a yoke from a DC-10 since this is for my dad and he is a retired airline captain.
