Default 1985 parcar

Well, its been a fun project so far, albeit a lot of little fixes so far. Mine's a 1985 dx4 gas 2 stroke. (according to the serial search).
1/ had to change the tires from goodyear runamuks (that were made for argos) which threw off the gear ratio and overworked the motor. switched to lawn tractor tires for now- runs a lot easier esp. acceleration
2/ replaced the carb with one that was made for gas/ oil mix since oil and gas are already were premixed in the gas tank since the oil pump probably went out and they bypassed it. original carbs are also not fully adjustable like the new one is. that alone helped the engine get gas into to it much better allowing for better speed.
3/ reupholstered the seat-vinyl
4/ put in a new strut- which turned out to be the same size as ones off 80's chevy love pickups at the local auto store. old one was shot
5/ replaced choke and line since the old one was broken easy ten dollar fix.
6/ pulled the head to clean it and the gasket.
7/ replaced the egnition switch

that's over the course of the last several weeks with the help of the neighborhood expert.

still on the list:
1/ figuring out reverse. after replacing egnition switch at least it now fires in the "r" setting but still does not GO backwards... getting into that this week.
2/ muffler bbq- read about it, determined my muffler is probably also full of crap that needs burned up- search that page trust me he's got cool pics.
3/ paint? don't know for sure yet.
4/ snowmobile engine? i understand its the same type clutch and would work great with the drivetrain although i haven't seen any completed setups yet.
it would give me more ability to ride around more in hilly areas/ rougher terrain.

that's where i'm at if anybody has any ques on how we've done the things on the first list or has any suggestions on the second list whatever. not a total expert but could try to help... i'll be posting more pics on this as i go.
