Default Oil mix Columbia only goes very very slow

Hey all first time poster and first time golf cart owner. Just bought this early 90s Columbia gas cart for $500(seemed good deal) and it runs pretty rough and slow. Slow like 2mph at best. Sea foam? Carb rebuild? Looking for ideas where to start and am impressed with how thorough the experts are here. I surely can post pics if that helps. Thanks! Nick

Well. Changed gas, messed with choke, and got it to fire. Not going to set any land speed records bit it's running! Any thoughts on fuel additives to 'clean' the system in this oil reservoir system?

Fuel additives generally do not work. Try cleaning a carb with it and see what it does. It probably will not touch the gas varnish it is supposed to eliminate! I would check compression after cleaning or rebuilding the carb $500 seems like a good price if it looks good and is not a wreck.
