Question replacing switch with toggle and solenoid

I'm looking for someone that may be able to help me with getting rid of the old f/r. Key switch that burnt out on my 86 par car gas I have heard of guys swapping out and putting a 3 way toggle switch and using two 4 post solenoids but im not sure how they have done it so if anyone knows I would like to hear from them. Like to just have switch to kill power and toggle for f/r any help would be great.

See if this will help.
I lost some stuff on my 'puter when I crashed it.
I'll see if I can find some of the diagrams.

Surplus Center has a reversing relay that might work. I worked it out and it looks good but I haven't worked electronics for 14 years and I am a little rusty. Some one needs to check it out. The relay is a 12 VDC at 100 amps #11-3169-12 for $42.95 plus freight.
And another at a Higher current rating # 11-3149 for $45.95 plus freight. It should work with ground on the indicated terminal and F1 where battery is and A1 and A2 on the other two. Control direction with a SPDT toggle switch. See if this will work for the original late model switch id around $114.00.

Hmmm where does the voltage regulator factor into that wiring diagram? Or would that wiring be completly seperate?

No I haven't tried the relay from surplus center. I have usually been able to repair the older switches. That is why I asked if anyone else had used it. Someone else recommended it to me. It does look like an Ideal solution to the bad switch problem. When I have to I will try it. Since I am rebuilding an old motorcycle my experimenting cash is low so I have to be careful to stay in my play budget.
