Default 87/88 Parcar Battery Replacement

Hey All,

I finally was able to replace the seals on my 87/88(?) Parcar over the weekend, and now I'm in the process of getting everything back together. The cart has never had a battery in it as long as I owned it, and I can't find information on what the replacement battery is. I'm assuming a 12v, side post, where the left side is the positive terminal. Is that information correct? Does anyone know the footprint size of the battery?

Thanks

When I got home from work, I was able to measure the battery tray. It was 9.5" wide by 6.75" deep. I was able to find a battery at Walmart for $75 that fit, had 750cca @ 32 degrees, and had the side post terminals.

anyone able to answer this question?! I'm at work and forgot to measure and see what length cables I have. I believe I need like the OP said, positive on left. right now I'm using my truck battery which is positive on right and its a huge stretch and turned sideways to fit. side terminal or top post? how many CCA?

To be honest, you are taking your chances going with someone else's measurements. All of these carts have been worked on to include lots of "custom" wiring over the years. You're probably best off looking at your cart to make sure you get the right configuration. Keep in mind it's often easier to configure the wiring to a battery than finding a battery that is configured to the wiring.

You can get a manual to your cart here:

Unfortunately, they don't seem to make any mentions of suggested cranking amps.

I use a good size car battery. Overkill I guess but I don't have any cranking problems either. I believe some people use lawn mower batteries but my memory is a little fuzzy.

I'm running 330 amp lawn and garden batteries in mine and they seem fine. I don't have lights or a radio, if you did you may want something bigger but you would have to be careful since the generators don't put out much so if you really drain em the gen may not be enough to recover em.

I looked today, mine are GT360. I assume GT stands for garden tractor? and the 360 is cold cranking amps? Is smaller so I made a wood frame to keep em in place. They are usually on sale in the spring for around $20. Regular price around $30-35. I got about 6 of the same battery so I can kinda float them around various machines which is nice for the seasonal stuff.

I just bought my battery last week from Walmart. VP-75(Value Plus), it costed $45. Has 550CCA. Everyone in town wanted $100 plus for a "Golf Cart" battery. I figured if it can start four to eight cylinders, it can hand my one.lol Like backyard said, probably overkill but the price was right.
