Default Columbia Par Car Engine Fix or Sell? GOOD CRANK!

Just got ahold of an old Columbia Par car lil rougher Shape, not to bad, but the engine came with and has a good Crank, which after trying to find one for my old harley is impossible. Was windering if anyone out there may wanna just buy the motor or parts Instead of me rebuilding and putting it together? Let me know and we can go through what I got. 2 engines and 2 carts!

Oh I live in northern Indiana, I do lots of shipping though so that wouldnt be an issue if need be. But I have no Problem building the cart. Was wondering how the spark works on this it seems there is supposed to be points correct? It looks as though someone was trying to put What I guess would be the pick coil under the fan? Or not sure what its called?

I could use a good crank and other engine parts. What do you have? Maybe a photo and how much do you want for them?

It depends on the year of the cart. 82-85 was still points. I think 86 they went to an electronic pickup and solid state module. I think at that time they also went to oil injection which also drove off the center of the fan.

From the VIN and decoder here its a 83-89 5K 4 wheel DX4. It does have the oil injection but also has a lobe cam that will run points. I got it all put together and a set of points and resistor and coil from a local shop just trying to get a spark now. With the engine out though.

The trigger for the pickup was just a collar that went over the cam. I think they were indexed slightly different but basically the same. The electronic assembly was always kinda expensive and harder to find so converting back to points was / is fairly common.

Shouldn't be a problem getting it to run. Ground the case and + to the + on the coil.

Look up testing the starter to figure out how to jump it to run.

If it does not start check the compression.

I got it to where I can spin the starter no problem, compression seems good, Is there a picture anywhere on here for the coil wireing? I seen one where they wired it to a module from a Chevy? Didn't think I needed that?
