Problem turning over 295 robin
picked up this 1999 TXT with a 295 robin in it, sometimes it wont crank and you can tap on the solenoid and it cranks. does this sound like a bad solenoid or a voltage reducer. i know they are both in the same location. Ive checked all the wires and i didnt see any that was loose

The voltage regulator has nothing to do with the starter turning over. It doesn't come into play until the starter gets up to speed, and starts generating voltage.
Check that your battery cables are clean, and tight. If you do decide to buy a solenoid, make sure that you get one that is rated for continuous duty. A cheap one for a car or tractor WILL burn up. |
