Default Shock Cross reference

Not having any luck finding the shocks for a gxt804d.. Wondering if ezgo has a superseded number? And yes, It needs them( right rear is stuck collapsed , left rear leaking. Fronts leaking )

Not interested in car shocks

GXT804D part numbers:

Front 24957g1
Rear 27538g1

Any insight would be greatly appreciated..

I googled gxt804d and is seems to be a gas workhorse.

Have you checked the parts diagrams for the replacement part number? Sometimes the number on the part is an assembly number and cannot be ordered.

Thanks SC...

I got the number from the 96 manual and also the shocks.. The Jacobson link has different numbers listed for it... The big issue I have in " just buying a set " is the cart manual you linked is a plastic body and the GXT804 is a marathon bodied metal diamond plate cart which adds a lot more weight.

I've found emailing ezgo from their website tech support usually gets an answer in 24 hours or less.

The GXT is definitely a different animal, and the TXT-style shocks likely are different. The shocks for the GXT804 *do* directly coincide with the shocks for a 1986-91 Marathon (or 444) cart, that's the place to start. Of note also, if You plan on lifting the cart, Monroe 31125 / 31000 shocks can be installed to give a much nicer ride than stock and will circumvent the need for the shock extenders that come with the lift kits.

Thanks for the info and PN on the Monroe .... The cart is lifted. I take it you're referring to the shock extenders on the rear? For a grand total of $83 shipped its worth trying them out.

The monroe 31125 and 31000 are a car shocks valved for a cars weight. They are also nitrogen filled which makes it worse IMO. I found they ride stiff on a golf cart.

I've put them on several Marathons over the years and the ride has seemed fine to me - if Your stock shocks are completely shot they'll feel a bit stiffer until You get used to the difference but on carts where I swapped them purely to eliminate the shock extenders, there was basically no difference except the Monroes *did* eliminate a little bit of the body roll at higher speeds (which I personally thought was nice)

Not to mention with all the weight that thing has cause of the all diamond plate body, a little stiffer shocks might not hurt.
