premci to MCI swap
I know this has been covered a bunch, but looking for some clarification.
OK, removed a pre-mci350 and installed a mci 350 I know there is a conversion, but being stubborn I put all the premci electrical back on. I even put on the pre-mci pickup(crank sensor) It does not exactly fit but I could put one bolt in and tighten it so it didnt move. OK, so it gets spark and tries to fire and spit and sputter. So my question is, does the premci and mci pickup detect spark differently causing a scenerio like being 180 degrees off timing? If I get the adapter kit, do I have to change the coil? Has anyone gotten tricky and made the premci electrical work on the MCI, or is the adapter kit the only possibility. Trying to avoid spending another $400 Thanks |
