Default 83 ez go rough run 2pg

83 ez go 2 pH Robins has a rough run. New to carts could use a little help. Muffler is not plugged. What is a good compression psi? What is I good carb psi? My compression on the head is 140. My carb psi is 3. My carb is an after market bv18. Do these numbers sound right?

Head compression is good. Ive never heard of carb compression. We can help more if you elaborate on what running rough means, and what you have done.

Yeah sorry the fuel psi is what I meant. The carb holds 3 psi. By running rough I mean that it will start up and run for a few seconds then falls flat on its face. Upon further inspection I have found that the diaphragm is ripped in the fuel pump. It is a mikuni fuel pump. So now with that being figured out it has smoothed out with a gravity feed. So now my current problem is that I need to find a new fuel pump or a rebuild kit but i can't find a mikuni distributer. Can some one point me in a good direction.

The problem I am having is that my fuel pump only has two male ports, the in and out. The third port is female compression port that is directly on the bottom of the fuel pump that bolts directly over a port on the block. I can't find this type of fuel pump. And there is no numbers on it for me to look for a rebuild kit either.

Red face Re: 83 ez go rough run 2pg

Got the fuel pump on. Runs solid but still floods out due to the carb only holding 3 psi. Leaks out over the 3 psi. I have mikuni BV 18 on it now. I am having trouble finding a rebuild kit for this carb. So give a guy a little help on that. Also I read some where I can switch out the BV 18 to a BV 24 strait across and get more out of the cart. Is this true, is it recommended? I am getting ready to put a 4 inch lift and some over size tires on this beast so if I can get more out of the cart with a larger carb due to the eXtra muscle I am gna need. I also read that if I got a shorter clutch belt (1 inch shorter) I could get a little more torc and take off. Is any of this true will any of this help me or is it all false. Looking to get pointed in the right Direction. I am mechanically inclined but new to the scene. Could use some veteran support. Is there a group out there that can add me for these later model ez go's. I already have another one in my sights already want to expand.
