Updating speakers and Amp

The guy I bought my cart from added a standard head unit radio with AUX input and two dual speakers to the panel below the seat. I want to upgrade the speakers and put an amp in as well. what is the best amp to use? I plan on only playing an ipod through them so fm/am radio is not needed. Also where would I mount the amp? under the seat?

Or maybe the front of the bag well.
