Default 83 ezgo gasser back fire

My 83 back fires now ever time I let off the gas. I have a BV 18 on it and it holds 3 psi. I think it's flooding itself out as its running due to the carb not holding the factory 4 to 5 psi as it should. I still have the original robins 2pg on it. Also the Muffler sounds louder than I think it should. I can't give you a decibel reading but you know what I mean when I say it shouldn't sound like a 4 wheeler when I am going down the road. Maybe it's normal for this age I don't know still new to the scene.

Backfiring while letting off the gas means that the throttle plate is not closing all the way.

This is what your cable should look like.

My throttle plate is in correct working order. Upon further inspection I have found that the Muffler off the block was loose so I tightened it and burned out the Muffler and put it back together. I would say that the back firing has stopped about 98% but still does it rarely. What else can I look at?

Check the adjustment on the micro switch.
Make sure it clicks as soon as you just touch the throttle.
Try driving a little different and see if the problem changes.
Keep your foot on the throttle.
When you let totally off the pedal it shuts off the ignition but the engine keeps getting fuel witch builds up in the exhaust.
You touch the throttle and boom backfire.
