Default Homebrew Rear "Long Travel"

So I'm having a Sunday Beverage and contemplating the easiest way to avoid spending $400 on a LT rear kit for the cart ... I found some decent, relatively inexpensive coil-over air shocks recently that I have used on the rear of a Yami, length and preload are fully adjustable and I can get them in what looks like the appropriate length - my question to those who may have done this before, is how solid are these rear kits without a pan-hard bar or ? to keep things stable side to side? I realize the design of the stock front cradle pivot basically triangulates the whole carriage assembly - this really couldn't be so easy as to take rectangular tubing the same dimensions as the spring pack and weld a piece of round stock on the end to accept the factory bushings, can it?

If I retain the factory bushings up front, clamp the swingarm in place to the axle just as the current leafs are, and fab a mounting point for the shocks - I should be home free I would think.

Boy I don't know what's worse, second-guessing something because it's just so complicated that there HAS to be something I'm missing - or situations like this where it's just too simple to actually be THAT easy ...

OPinions or experiences, Guys? Thanks as always !!!
