power kit
Have a 2003 EZGO ST350 Workhorse. Was wondering about a POWER KIT. Have heard they do add torque and also can smooth out take-offs. Any one with experience and what type of kit might be best? Thanks. billbush

Re: power kit
I have one on my cc and it has made a difference in takeoffs and lowend. I have noticed that when it finally opens up it almost sounds like a car shifting to overdrive. I am not sure if it supposed to do that or not. I haven't played with it a whole lot. I got mine from Cartpartsplus.

Re: power kit
The ST350 already has ezgo's 28 degree driven clutch. This is what ezgo uses instead of "power kits". Are you having problems with your cart or just looking for a little more?

Re: power kit
If the clutches are good the most likely problem (jerking on take off) is a belt issue. a worn belt can cause these problems, it should measure at least 1 1/8" wide for optimum performance. A shorter belt will change the starting gear ratio of the cvt setup giving you better low end performance. you can read all about shorter belts in its sticky thread of the tech section

Re: power kit
Having no problems what so ever. Just inquiring if the power kits are effective (what pros and cons might be) and I have heard that they will smooth out take offs from what standard might be.? Thanks.

Re: power kit
It's just a stiffer spring to slow the driven clutch coming open, lets the engine tach up higher to get more hp to the rear wheels sooner. you shouldn't need it with the ST350 given it has a 28deg clutch (does the same thing)
