Default 2000 ezgo not working?

having trouble with my 2000 ezgo was running fine then it just up and quit. battery went dead. battery will charge if i put a charger on it. so would this be abattery or charging problem with the golfcart? thanks for any advice. this a gas cart

Voltage regulator sounds bad to me. Mine done the same thing

The usual culprit is a voltage regulator issue or possibly a bad battery that is not holding a charge any longer. The last problem could be a bad generator. Have you downloaded the service guide?

put a volt meter on the battery and ground the green wire on the generator with it running, it should peg the needle, if this happens you have a bad regulator.
