Rear end help

I have an 1992 ezgo marathon 2 stroke. It's been running great but last night it started making a loud clicking noise by the rear clutch. I took the belt off and the tires were locked up solid until I pushed really hard and you could hear somthing brake free in the rear end. So I pulled rear end out and can tell the problem is a bearing or the input shaft itself. Basically I can't figure out for the life of me how these rear ends come apart and also the tires are stuck on got the lugs off but the aluminum rims refuse to break loose any imput would be great

I work on cars as a side job a lot. The same thing happens with tires on vehicles. Usually if you kick the bottom of the tire real hard it'll pop free. Sometimes you can put the lugs back on and leave them a little loose. Drop it back to the ground and drive it forward a few feet. Dropping the jack real fast sometimes works too. Another way is my taking a sledge and smacking the bottom of the tire from the inside. You have to be careful doing this. Make sure no part of your body is under the cart just in case it drops off the jack and stands.

And I was going to see if anyone knew how to split these difrential I just see the rear cover but I would imagine there is a way to split it up by the input shaft there's a small it looks like retaining ring removed all bolts and tried getting a flat head in there with no luck

I've never messed with a diff on a golf cart. For the tires you could try and remove the whole hub and tire together. You'll have to get the little cap off of the center of the hub which may be kind of tricky with the tire still on. Maybe some of the big channel locks would work.

I'm not positive on this, but by looking at what new axle shafts looks like, you have to remove the axles to be able to split the diff. It looks like each side has its own axle. There are probably clips holding each axle into the diff. They probably slide into the diff from each side and are held in by a clip. That's how a lot of automotive diffs are. I could be way off on this but just wanted to throw out some ideas to get you by until someone else comes along who has messed with the rear axles and diff.

Are there side covers on this diff? I have a 93 so I'm trying to look at it to be able to give you some help. It looks like it. If so, pull off the side covers and look for a clip. If you can get to the clips, get the center cap off, remove the cotter pin, you should be able to pull out the axles. At least that's how it looks like it would be. Like I said, I could be way off. There might not be any clips. Either way, I think you're gonna have to either get the tires off or the hub and tire together. At least that way you'll be able to mess with getting the tire off the hub while it's off the cart. You could throw it off the roof of your house or something....lol

Man that's what I'm about to do this thing is an absolute nightmare right now it's hanging from a winch in my garage lol

Is this what the rear end that's in your cart look like?

No its tipped so the cover is almost pallel with the ground. I pulled it apart and found the culprit governer wight broke and went through the hole thing. Input shaft gear is chipped only on the center of gear pinion is really chewed up. And ring gear has chips all through the center. Now to figure out what has to be replaced and what can live because I Dont want to breAK the bank. I cleaned all gears and Evan though full of chip marks they seem to be meshing just fine anyone have any imput on this ?
