1991 3pg starter problems
Here lately I've been noticing when I push the accelerator pedal to start my cart that the starter will hesitate a few seconds then finally start turning the engine over. It only seems to happen in forward and not in reverse. Are the brushes getting worn in the starter? What should I check for problems? I've checked the battery and it holds over 12 volts when cranking. Thanks, Dave

When it happens, lift your weight up off the seat and see if it still does it. My old 89 did the same thing. The seat was putting pressure on the directional switch bracket. I cleaned the contacts in the switch and it fixed it.
