87 ezgo bearings
Any reason I shouldn't use this bearing?
Ebay sealed bearing Seems alot less to spend then for the unsealed ones. or from Sears |

Re: 87 ezgo bearings
I didn't look at your link but I know what you're getting at. You can get the number off of any bearing out there and cross reference it. Whenever I rebuild engines, trannies, etc I always take the bearings to my local John Deere dealership (that dealership guarantees the lowest price on bearings) and get them there or just order from Amazon. It's a lot cheaper getting them that way. Pretty much all brands can be cross referenced.

You can even go to a auto parts store with the bearing and they can get them. Napa, Carquest, Advance, Orielly's, and Auto Zone should all have them or at least be able to get them.

Re: 87 ezgo bearings
But what about using a sealed bearing instead of a unsealed one? I just found I can get tons of these 80's golf carts for free-75 each. So If I do this on the cheap all 6 of us could have one :P

Pluck the seals out and run them. 6206 is the universal number.
But, I prefer a non-Chinese version. You can get them for around $2/ea in bulk, and they should last a while in a mild cart engine. The Sears/Stens one is a US-made. VBX is typically real competitive. |

Re: 87 ezgo bearings
I get the K&S set that fits 87-99, I think on the range, pretty much all the 2-stroke 250s. It comes with an extra wide one, that is nice in case the crank is deeply grooved from the old worn seal and dirt. $15 or so. I'll see if I can find the sizes, as they're not a real rare item. Should be same as the 70's Star sled, too
