Question Spark and No Spark EC-25-3PG

Well got the engine out and set the pulsar with feeler gage to .018 put engine back together and installed into cart. Now I have Spark well sorta have spark, using the noid light attached to the plug I get no SPARK, remove noid from plug and clamp to ground I get lots of spark any suggestions??? I am hoping it is a bad plug I have never figured out why a two cycle plug can go bad while a four cycle keeps on working.
