Default EZGO TXT ARCING SPARK, Running Poorly

Each time I run into a new issue I pop it up here and get great responses so thank you all for that.

Today's challange....

2001 EZGO TXT Lifted Cart EH29 295CC Robbins Engine, running poorly, running on once cylinder sometimes.

Checked in the dark and the spark is arcing from the boot to the metal cover on the cylinder head. Happening on BOTH of the plugs.

I have replaced some components on my old cart lately including:

Ignition Coil W/ Wires
Ignitor
Plugs
Fuel Pump
Carburetor

Any ideas??

Is this a grounding issue?

Thanks Guys.

Ryan

Default Re: EZGO TXT ARCING SPARK, Running Poorly

Just a quick update as a help to anyone else with the same problems, I wrapped the plug wires with electrical tape to see if it would stop the arcing onto the top of the engine and get the spark to go into the plug - this worked. I am sure this is a temporary fix, and I need a better set of wires but i have a few concerns.

(1) The coils that they sell now it seems have hard-wired plug wires. I bought one where the selling company claims that they are removable but they have a rubber boot on them that seems NON removable and the last coil I had I literally destroyed trying to figure out if the wires were removable (I did it intentionally to answer the question once and for all) So putting new wires on means a new coil (and it seems that the coils of 2015 come with pretty crappy plug wires)

(2) There are wire sets out there for original and aftermarket coils, I dont understand the difference.

If anyone else is having SPARK fun like I am please reply!
