Ez Go Stalling Issue 2 Stroke
I just picked a 1992 Ez Go with the 2 stroke Robin. When you first hop on it, it will fire right up and drive 100 yards, then it will start to backfire and quit. If you wait 5 seconds, it will start back up and go about 50 feet and it will spit and sputter, backfire, and quit. Over and over it will do the same. I did notice when it backfires it will spit gas out of the overflow vent on the carb.
Things I've checked: Changed Spark Plug Cleaned Carb Switched fuel pump Removed fuel filter Disconected muffler I am thinking along the lines of coil? Anyone have any ideas from here? Thanks! |

Did you check the float level on the carb?

Re: Ez Go Stalling Issue 2 Stroke
It seemed to close it at the right spot.

What does the right spot mean exactly?

Re: Ez Go Stalling Issue 2 Stroke
If it has the original fuel pump(non-electric), Morgan is on to something here...

Re: Ez Go Stalling Issue 2 Stroke
So I should bend it so the fuel cuts off sooner? It is an original style pump

Re: Ez Go Stalling Issue 2 Stroke
You should set it where it's intended to be to start with. I'm not familiar with what carb you have but parallel or even with the carb upside down is probably a good place to start. There is probably a manual around here somewhere.

Did the previous owner rebuild it, and put the piston in backwards?

Re: Ez Go Stalling Issue 2 Stroke
I bent the tab so it shut off a little sooner. No change. If I remember reading somewhere correctly I have to pull the reeds and look through the hole to see if the piston is in backwards?
