Talking 1976 EZGO 244cc Engine

So much to my delight I did a total overhaul of this old engine and got it firing and turning. The internal starter was the hardest part. Any case, these engines were mounted on their side and I am trying to retro fit it into a 2002 EZGO TXT. Anybody else conquer this task that could help. I have all of the original brackets and I'm thinking I may need to do some custom fit work. Any pictures of how it was installed originally would be helpful...

Kind of like installing a Model T engine in a new Mustang.

Your 2 stroke engine has a side to side pulley. I'm not 100% sure, but I believe that the 2002 has a front to back pulley on the rear axle. If that is true, you would need an older axle.

The Two stroke will be mounted front to back to match the axle orientation. bit of reconfiguring with the engine mounting baseplate but very do-able.
