Default Fuel gauge

My fuel gauge is acting up big time.. Basically, the needle is going the other way, ALL the way left towards negative fuel.... I took the buoy out of the tank and and started playing with it to see what was the effect on the gauge... the higher the buoy, the more to the left the needle tends to go (although it is impossible because there is a 'stop')

Has anybody else had this problem?
What should I do?

It seems that the problem is the buoy, but I don't know how to diagnose it.

BTW, EZ GO TXT 2+2 2004

Maybe the wires on the sender are reversed?

Not really.. they haven't been touched... I think, from reading, we are talking about the sender/buoy assembly... I will let you know when I get it fixed..

The problem lays with the gauge itself and NOT with the sender. Hopefully this will help someone in the future...

Thanks for the follow up zarak. Did you have to replace the head?

The fuel gauge is very much a sealed thing.. Tried prying it open to see if there was some sort of solution, but ended destroying it

Afterwards, I reckoned that there is not much of a solution for a broken gauge except replacing it...
