Default 97' Ezgo Has No Get Up And Go

Looking for some insight on an issue I'm having.
97 Ezgo is struggling to move itself.
Did a complete tune up, lashed the valves, new carb., new drive belt, new fuel lines and inline fuel filter.
The drive clutch was sticking, lubricated it , seemed to free it up, I also lubed the driven clutch.
While on jack stands everything seems to be functioning , when back on the ground, it struggled to move itself. I'd say it travels at about 1/4 speed of what it used too.
any insight on what could be causing this issue would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you!

Hows the compression? How about checking all the throttle and governor linkages. Also check the following thread and see if it helps.

Is the engine spinning up to normal rpm? If so you probably have some belt slipping going on. Take the seat off and take it for a spin. Should be fairly easy to see what is going on.

I thought about that too but he said he has a new belt. Maybe not the correct one?

Thanks guys for the info.
Need to try a compression check.
As for the belt, someone had replaced it with an aftermarket belt.
Ordered a factory correct belt, still have the same issue.
Read the link on routine maintenance, going to check the throttle position and cable, on the new carb.
Thanks for the help.

From reading the original post, it would seem that it was running fine, had PM done, and now does not run fine. IF that is the case, the first thing I would look at is valve lash. I have seen way too many cases where valves were not correctly lashed. I bought an engine off ebay, one from a "factory authorized rebuilder" They tell you that the engine has been worked on and who knows what is wrong, just that the engine was replaced on warranty after repairs either failed or where not possible.
I got the motor and had great compression on one hole, and 0 on the other. Yep, adj'd the valves and had great compression on both! Oh, and the cylinders were bored .022 over, and you could still see boring bar marks in the cylinder walls. I had to take it to .024 over to make the bores clean, and used over sized rings to seal.

Also, check for spark from Both plugs. Is there any smoke out exhaust and if so, what color, white or dark? If white smoke begins to show after running it a few minutes, could have a "cold" cylinder....allowing un burnt fuel into the exhaust manifold will it will become heated by the other exhaust causing smoke. This would give you basically 1/2 the power.

Thanks for all,the insights, unfortunately the weather here isn't cooperating. But the first chance I get, I'm going to thoroughly investigate all your suggestion.
Tom, I lashed the valves, @. 005, Read factory is. 004, and have read some post from other members they said. 006.
I will,recheck the valves. Is. 005 good, or should I go up,or,down?
Thanks again for all,the advice. Will keep you posted
