Default Ezgo go 23 hp vanguard

Hi,I am having an issue where cart runs for about a second. I just replaced carb, fuel pump and fuel filter.. .doesn't seem like the filter doesn't fill up very much...I put a rag over tank hole and blew air in fuel tank,it didn't make a difference. ..It seems like I seen someone awhile back with same issue..any thoughts...thx

Positive it is actually firing and not just the starter generator turning it over?
Bad micro switch bad solenoid can cause it to turn over then stop.

Check your engine oil?
Might have a bad low oil sensor.
Start rev a little die.

Your description really sounds like fuel starvation to me.

The only hole drilling I have ever heard of is in the fuel cap if the vent gets plugged.

You can remove the cap first, to see if that is the problem.

When you get it started and right before it stalls out put your hand over the back of the carb, should suck your hand up and create a strong suction and pull more gas into the carb, pull your hand away before it stalls, if you keep doing it and she stays running you got fuel blockage / starvation like cart around said. Sometimes the suction fill free up the blockage. Good luck.

Thx for the feedback...I got it somewhat running but doesn't seem to have the power it should and it smells rich...I keep hearing of people busting off the black caps on carb ...I don't see any other adjustments....seems I heard about changing a spring too....also seems to be a lot of slack in drive belt...I don't see adjustments anywhere to tighten..was thinking it should have about 1/4inch of play....again thx for your help...I know I seem helpless, but I think we have all been here as beginners..lol

Drove it aboutique a mile today...guessing max speed was about 12 mph...I would think a 23 would do a good bit better...and it backfires at shut down(not every time)?and crackles from time to time

You have to remember rpms not hp determine the top speed of most carts. So unless you do something like doing mods to increase your red line of the engine ,high speed gears,or larger diameter tires your top speed will not change with more hp.

Check spark......both plugs.....you might have a coil issue......
Does it smoke?
Pull oil dip stick.....do you smell gas?
A misfiring or non firing cylinder will run but only give you 1/2 power...
You be surprise how well a vtwin will run on just one cylinder firing..

Not sure how you got 12mph.....at full, safe rpm of 3600, with stock gears and stock size tires, (18"), you should be in the 15mph+ range.
