Default Need some help with the 88

My 88 ezgo has a micro switch on both sides of the FNR switch, it also has a N In the middle of the forward and reverse plate,
I'm wondering if it has some sort of electrical neutral? I've looked in the book it it says there's a neutral safety switch connected on a factory harness, I know those mean two different things, but these types of carts run forward and backwards, why would it need a neutral safety switch. I have a decent reference point with my 86 an it doesn't have those switches or that marking on the plate.
Is this just when they were starting to move over to the transmission style or maybe it means nothing, I would like some help if anyone knows what this means? Thanks in advance

Your FNR switch reverses the connection so the engine can change directions. That's why there are 4 big connections. Putting the lever straight up breaks all of the connections. that's what they call neutral. There is a cam in there that also opens the microswitches at the same time.

One microswitch does nothing but activate the reverse buzzer. On my 87, it is located on the driver's side of the switch.

The other microswitch makes contact in both directions. It's part of the control circuit. It's connected in series with the key switch, and pedal switch. It needs to be operational. It should also be the same as your 86.

Compare your diagram with the one in this 85 manual.

Since the middle breaks electrical contact that makes sense why it says neutral.
I appreciate your response that was very helpful!
