Default textron problems

i just bought a ezgo textron serial number 254821, manuf. code is 08208. robin engine model ec25-2p6. disc 244cc. motor 8107412 made in japan.

i dont know what year it is and the problems im having is, i cant find the oil stick i dont know if its a 2 stroke or 4 stroke? the battery was died in it so i put a new battery in it and it killed it so i charged it and it would try to start but wouldnt while it was on the ground. i jacked the rear end up off the ground and held the gas down on it and it started the motor and the wheels spunt like crazy, then it ran for 30 seconds and i had to pull the choke on it to get it to go back up in the rpms because it started to fall down in rpms. so i think the carb may need rebuilt and maybe the started is bad on it but i thought i should ask everyone here for their thought on the problems im having before i buy parts that i may or may not need to buy for it.

can someon that knows about this model please tell me about it. i have a g2 yamaha that i use at the race track but i bought this one for my parnets when they come out because its alot nicer.

It's a 2 stroke, 2pg.... no oil stick, oil mixed with gas or by a pump. not sure about the year but it's pretty old, I don't know when the 2pg was made.

I don't know much about them, you need to run pre mix gas in it so it won't lock up.

They still sell the seat parts, kinda need to know what year your cart is. are you sure about those numbers, they don't look right to me. Can you post any pics of it? the front axle also if possible.

I still can't tell what year it is, problem being the last 2 digits of the manufacturing code should tell the year. code is D8208. I know it's not an 2008, The letter stands for the month so I can only assume it's an 1982 made on the 8th day. it's about the only thing that makes since because I know there's not 82 days in a month. Dero has a 87, it's like your cart here's a link to it. Maybe someone else has come across this before and can help.

i was thinking it was a 1982 because theres no way in hell its a 2008 lol. i think the starter needs rebuilt so im going to stop at my local golf cart shop here in town and talk to them about it. when i put the jump box on it and jack it up off the ground it will start and run, but without the jump box it just kills the battery and its a 650 cold crank battery. i also think the carb needs rebuilt or the floats in it are bad because i have to pull the choke out to keep it runinng then push it back in.

i seen someone made a home made lift kit for this model cart, does anyone know of a write up on how to make the lift kit?
