Default 1995 ezgo with 295- runs good but has no power

I have an ezgo with a 295 engine. It starts and runs well until you get to a little grade then it barely has enough power to get out of its own way. When I bought it a few months ago it was slow. I turned the governor up a little and it ran beautiful for a few weeks and then started this sluggish crap. Has not take of power but will get to about 15mph in time. I have changed gas filter, spark plugs, air filter, and set the valve lash. Nothing seems to help. Anyone ever have a muffler plugged? Clutches seem to be functioning properly. Any help would be awesome. Thank you!

Check your compression. Should be in the 140-160 range.

Consider replacing your drive belt. Are your rear tires standard size? Check also if ramp shoes are still okay.

I had one I thought was weak so I bought a new vc 460, but when I had it apart I found it was just a broken spring in the secondary clutch that made it seem so weak.

So which belt should a guy buy? Everyone has varying opinions it seems. The 6098 seems too **** tight. I tried putting one on last night and just don't like being that forceful.
How tough is the secondary to take apart? I took the primary apart and cleaned that up and shined the pins a bit but all and all it was pretty decent.
I have not checked compression but my best guess is that it is good. I will try and find my guage and do that tonight. Thanks for the help guys!

For the secondary I just watched a YouTube vid on how to do it
When I put it back together I needed help to compress the spring.

I put the hp2012 dayco belt on. Didnt run any different. Checked compression and had 150&155. I pulled the secondary clutch off and am struggling to get it apart. It appears that there may be an issue inside. I got the snap ring off and the cap is stuck. I'm afraid someone is gonna lose their head when it decides to break loose so I mounted it in the press with about an 1/8" of play in case it pops loose and I soak it with some jb80.

Found the problem. The secondary was stuck open a was because of debris from the buttons and the cam. I'll put Ned button ramps in and a new game and it should be as good as new.
