Which is Best Short Belt for More Power in 1998 Workhorse 1200
I have a 1998 Workhorse with a machine shop rebuilt engine in very good shape with about 150 hours on it.
The cart is lifted, has 22in tires on it. I think I have done almost everything possible to improve hill climbing with this heavy cart and a stock engine. Both the drive and driven clutch have heavier springs, the driven clutch has a 28 deg cam, and the driven clutch has been machine to close tighter and push the belt outward. I've tried the standard drive belt (42in long), the heavy duty drive belt (42in long), and the #22337-G1 drive belt (41in long). I've had the best results with the #223377-G1, and now it has some wear and it is time to replace it. In looking at available belts I found the # 27077-G02 listed as being 40 3/4 in long. I thought since I was replacing the belt anyway I would shorten it another 1/4 in. OK? |
